3 views of a book called Get To Wow

In 2018, along with the good folks at GCSEN, the Global Center for Social Entrepreneurship Center,  I designed a book that takes students, adult learners, businesspeople, makers, and searchers on the path to finding and activating their inner social entrepreneur.

Social Entrepreneurs run economically sustainable businesses and non-profits with a “4P” mission, addressing an entrenched social problem to benefit “People, Profit, Planet & Place”, making meaning, making money, and moving the world to a better place!

“GET TO WOW !” was written by Mike Caslin, with Tony DiMarco, Dennis Hanno, and Harv Hilowitz.

The clients, GCSEN, wanted a very specific design style. The layout is designed to grab the attention and keep it, with an unusual vertical layout, lots of bold headlines, and almost every page has bright, interesting graphics. I made many of them myself.

I re-designed some of the old charts and graphics that someone, somewhere made in Word a long time ago, and it was very satisfying!

The right colors and fonts can make an image easier to read and understand.

The book has a map theme throughout, so I got to play with graphics about travel.

Stay in your lane!
