GCSEN

Global Center for Social Entrepreneurship Network

GCSEN, the Global Center for Social Entrepreneurship Network, is a global leader in educating socially responsible entrepreneurs. Through their work with colleges, universities, organizations, and individuals, they empower people to “make meaning, make money, and move the world to a better place” through 4P Social Entrepreneurship- thinking always of People, Planet, Profit, and Place.

I started working with GCSEN right after I finished my graphic design classes at SUNY Ulster, when they enlisted me to design their first-ever published book for the mass market, Get to WOW! Since then I have done many other print projects for them.

In 2021, I decided the GCSEN logo was inadequate for the organization’s needs. It’s just really hard to read and understand when it’s small or seen at a distance. So I redesigned the logo into several variations so we have many dynamic options to choose from!

Here is the old logo.

Bold, easy to read, but recognizable, maintaining elements of the old logo to ease the transition to the new look.

Simple, good for small uses

This is an alternate version that incorporates one of GCSEN’s most frequently used slogans.

The most similar to the old logo, this one is easier to read. I thickened up the lines in the globe as well as adding a bold circle around the outside for contrast.
