GCSEN- Global Center for Social Entrepreneurship Network

A Non-profit in the Business Education Sector

The Global Center for Social Entrepreneurship Center is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches all kinds of people, but especially business students, about starting and running enterprises with a “4P” mission: People, Profit, Planet, and Place. Helping people use capitalism to do good for the world sounds great to me!

GCSEN first hired me (fresh out of graphic design school!) to do some layout, illustration, and design for their book Get to WOW!. Since then I’ve been pulled in to work on many other projects, like their annual reports. Here are some our best print projects, and you can see the work I did on their logo here. In 2023, they launched a television show about Veteran entrepreneurs, which gave me the chance to design a TV show logo, as well as materials for their fantastic premiere celebration. (See Veteran’s Playbook.) I also did a huge overhaul of their website in 2024, which taught me a lot about e-commerce site design.

The folks at GCSEN went to a big conference in DC in June 22. Months before, they did extensive research to produce a white paper, and intended to bring it to the conference as a basic, well, white paper – a stack of text printed from Word. I convinced them to elevate the piece they’d worked so hard on into a beautifully-designed, but still academic, professional printed booklet.

I also made them some big banners and small posters to advertise at the event.

Some of the paper’s authors presented it onstage at the 27th Annual IAJBS (International Association of Jesuit Business Schools) World Forum / 2022 CJBE Annual Meeting. Here they are with a banner I designed.
